Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Receptionist/Scheduler to be the welcoming face of our center and a vital link in our daily operations. This role coordinates all aspects of scheduling surgical procedures, assists with admissions, manages medical records, and ensures smooth communication between patients, families, and our medical team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel surgical procedures as directed

  • Obtain accurate patient information including insurance and demographics during scheduling

  • Maintain block times for surgeons and ensure anesthesia availability

  • Prepare and distribute the daily surgery schedule

  • Handle a high volume of incoming calls and route them appropriately

  • Process incoming/outgoing mail and cash receipts per policy

  • Verify insurance coverage and preauthorization requirements

  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records

  • Facilitate communication between patients, family members, physicians, and staff

  • Assist with month-end statistics and other administrative duties as assigned


Qualifications:
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to type at least 40 wpm and proficiency with standard office equipment

  • Computer literacy and knowledge of medical terminology required

  • Minimum 1 year experience in computerized appointment scheduling; 2+ years in a medical clerical role preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism

  • Knowledge of outpatient surgery procedures and insurance processes preferred
